The Pistol Shrimp

The pistol shrimp lives on the ocean floor and is only a few inches long, but he has a couple of unique and amazing abilitles. He is able to use a special claw to create a bubble that literally explodes with a huge noise-- as loud as 210 decibels (louder than a gunshot). This shockwave can stun or kill small prey and its explosive force generates heat that has been measured at over 4000 degrees, which is as hot as
the surface of the sun!
